Window Live Web Services
Microsoft’s decision to add social networking features to its
Windows Live Web services was received with great enthusiasm by
the company’s subscribers. Microsoft also announced that it is
integrating activities from some 50 companies and Web 2.0 services
-- including Yahoo Inc.'s Flickr photo-sharing service, LinkedIn Corp.,
Photobucket Inc., Twitter and WordPress.org -- into the site through
new Windows Live profiles and a news feed. [1,2]

In the other words, the plan is to put Windows Live on a similar level
with Web sites such as FaceBook and MySpace and the direction is
also embraced by Google Inc with its OpenSocial initiative. [1]

Currently, Windows Live has hotmail, spaces, one care, family safety,
gallery, MSN, personalized page and office live.
